Biography and Life Achievements: Mazen Sinokrot
Sinokrot Global Group (SGG) Chairman and CEO
Mr. Mazen Sinokrot is a founding member of Sinokrot Global Group (SGG), launched in Jerusalem in 1982. SGG, under his management, has grown from one company to a group of twelve companies operating in different fields and sectors, including: Food and Agro-Industries, Agriculture, Tourism and Hospitality, Trade and Consumable products, and Information Technology. Today, SGG is a leading group with export-import networks, distributing its products in local and international markets.
Mr. Sinokrot led the national effort to establish a number of private sector institutions, including: the Federation of Industries, which he chaired for a full term, and Palestine Trade Center (Paltrade), for which he was the first chairman. He continues to serve on the boards of a number of these institutions and remains an active supporter of their partnership with the public sector and continues to promote Palestinian business growth on regional and international levels. He also serves on the boards of foundations that promote youth development, and is active in his social responsibility projects. He is the Chairman of Palestine Education for Employment (PEFE), and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Al-Quds University and Al-Quds Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Sinokrot severs on the Board of Directors of the Palestine Investment Fund (PIF), and has established the first holding company Al-Quds Holding, with the PIF and other Jerusalem entities and leading individuals, who like him, are residents of Jerusalem. The aim of this establishment is to serve Jerusalem and its ever growing needs.
Additionally, Mr. Sinokrot, who is politically independent and non-partisan, served and held the post of a Minister of National Economy in the time period between 2005-2006. He is a frequent participant and speaker at a number of local, regional and international conferences, seeking to promote national Palestinian interests and to create economic development.
Finally, Mr. Sinokrot is a major promoter of the Public/Private partnership in formulating laws and legislations leading to a competitive economy. He holds a BSC in Industrial Engineering and Production Management with honors from the University of Notingham in the United Kingdom (1980).
